STEPHEN BISHOP, DIRECTOR OF BANDS
Mr. Bishop joined the faculty of Taylor County High School in the fall of 2004. He is a native of Greensburg, KY and was a graduate of Green County HS. Mr. Bishop earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Campbellsville University. While at CU, he was a member of the Tiger Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Tuba Ensemble, and Brass Quintet. In 2003 he was selected as a member of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Band. In addition to his performing honors, Mr. Bishop served as both Chapter and State president of the KY Collegiate Music Educators National Conference (CMENC). Since being at Taylor County, the middle and high school bands have consistently received Distinguished ratings at the KMEA Regional Concert Festivals, and the marching band has been a state semifinalist each year. Mr. Bishop is currently working towards his Master’s Degree at Campbellsville University. He is married to Christina Bishop, and together they have three children: Madison, Noah, and Logan.
SETH WHITAKER, PERCUSSION INSTRUCTOR
Seth began his music career at Shelby Co High School in Shelbyville, KY under the direction of Todd Wright. After graduating in 2003, Seth went to Morehead State where he was in the drum line in 2003 and 2004, wining a National Championship in the 2003 Indoor line at PASIC. Seth also marched in The Cadets in 2004, 2005 and 2006. During his tenure there, was a member of the world Championship corps and also won the High Drum Award in 2005. He aged out as section leader/center snare in 2006. In 2005 Seth transferred to Campbellsville University where he is a senior Music Education Major. He was also Caption head/Arranger for the East 80 Indoor Drumline in 2006 and 2007. Seth is Currently the Co Caption head of the Taylor Co Percussion section in Campbellsville, Ky and is on the percussion staff at Adair Co High School, winning state championships in 2005, 2006, 2007 and BOA Grand Champion, class A, in 2005 and 2007. Seth has studied under/played under- Tom Aungst, Brian Mason, Todd Wright, Eric Ward, Frank Oddis, Marty Sharer and Chad Floyd.
DAVID KEEVEN, PERCUSSION INSTRUCTOR
David Keeven is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw IN, where he was a member of the Warsaw WGI percussion ensemble. Keeven was in the Morehead State drumline in 2002, 2003 and 2004, winning a National Championship in the 2003 MSU PASIC line and was tenor section leader in 2004. Keeven marched at the Troopers in 2005, tenor section leader and aged out in as a member of the Colts q-line in 2006. Keeven has taught at various high schools in KY and IN and is currently the Co Caption head of the Taylor Co Percussion section. Keeven is a recent graduate of Campbellsville University where he attained his degree in music education. He has studied under/played for- Nick Angelus, Frank Oddis, Mickey Ratliff, Marty Sharer, Brian Mason and Chad Floyd.
